Recent Project: Facility Upgrade for a Building Design Firm in South Windsor, CT
At Transfer Enterprises, we recently had the opportunity to help a building design firm in South Windsor, CT, completely transform their office space. Spanning two floors, the project aimed to create a modern, functional environment that inspires creativity and enhances productivity.
Transforming the Workspace with Refurbished and Custom Furniture
We began the transformation by updating the workstations with TE-Refurbished Steelcase Answer Powered Workstations. These sleek, modern workstations feature integrated power solutions to keep everything connected and running smoothly.
Next, we designed a custom laminate L-shaped desk with a matching hutch to complement the workstations. This design provides a spacious work area and ample storage—perfect for keeping the private offices organized. We tailor our custom designs to each client’s unique needs, and this desk was an ideal fit for the client’s requirements!
Giving the Conference Room a New Look
Next, we focused on refreshing the conference room. We added new laminate finishes and re-conditioned Herman Miller seating, creating a professional and inviting space. This combination of style and functionality gives the team a comfortable place to collaborate and hold meetings.
Collaborating Closely with the Client
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. From day one, we worked closely with the client to ensure the design met their vision. We created detailed floor plans and carefully selected the perfect fabrics, colors, and finishes. To help them visualize the final product, we even set up a mock Steelcase Answer workstation in our showroom before the final decision was made.
Phased Removal & Smooth Transitions
A key challenge of this project was the phased removal of old furniture while maintaining normal office operations. Our Operations Officer led the decommissioning process, coordinating the removal in phases to ensure minimal disruption to daily work. We carefully planned around the painting and carpeting schedule, allowing other areas of the office to remain functional throughout the process.
